The Monument to the Protection of Korean Language and Writing by the Korean Language Society was created as a space to commemorate the noble spirit of the 33 members of the Korean Language Society who sacrificed themselves to protect the Korean language and writing during the Japanese colonial period and to spread the spirit of love for Hangeul to future generations.
It is located at 80-1 Sejongro-dong, Jongno-gu (Sejongno Park). The production period is from December 2012 to August 2014. (Unveiling Ceremony: August 29, 2014, 5pm) It is 10m wide, 10m long, and 10m high.
